Scope and Contents
The Glenn Beyus Collection (2005-26-0) consists of 21 photographs from circa 1910-1925. Among the photographs is one of woman on a roof (described by donor as his grandmother's girlfriend), 2 photographs of a truck in a blizzard (donor's grandfather on his was to pick up his wife from work), and thirteen photos of Phelps Tavern interior, exterior and employees.

Biographical or Historical Information
The Phelp's Tavern was one of the most prominent historic properties in Litchfield, located on the north side of the green. It opened as a Tavern c. 1787 and was in continuous operation until it went into foreclosure in 1936, a victim of the Great Depression and was torn down. It was also known as the United State Hotel.
