Charles Ganung Cancelled Checks
00-2012-103-0
Scope and Contents
Charles Ganung Cancelled Checks, 2012-103-0, include checks from the First National Bank of Litchfield. Some of them were organized and labeled, probably by Ganung himself. Included is one passbook with entries from 1889-1891. There are also two black and white picture postcards of scenes in Paris which are adhered to one another. These items were found in a wooden box in the attic of the home of the donor. Charles M. Ganung (1857-1912) lived in Litchfield and in 1880 he co-founded the Ganung & Elmore general merchandise store. He sold his interest in 1882.
