Smith, Tallmadge, and Company Letterbook

Identifier: 00-1971-67-2

Scope and Contents

The Smith Tallmadge and Company Letterbook Collection (1971-67-2) is a large collection of letters from 1807 to 1811. The letters are about orders often notifying customers that their orders had arrived or internal matters such as inspecting invoices from stores. The Letters were for business transactions. The letters appear to mostly be signed either by "John Tallmadge" or "Smith, Tallmadge, Co." The collection is a copy of originals and some of the letters are handwritten copies which are labeled with "copy" in script. Unfortunately it appears that the edges of the letters were cut off when copied.
