Scope and Contents

An account Book (1907-18-0) was partially used by Bishop Silvanus to record the accounts of the Second Episcopal Society. The volume also contains the title, "John Kilborn’s Day Book.” The Episcopal Society accounts recorded include expenses such as work on the steeple. John Kilborn's day book records matters such as silk and tobacco. The item is currently housed in 3B Box 110.

Collection of papers related to Civil War Gen. John Sedgwick (1831-1864) of Cornwall, Conn. Items include photographs and documents relating to Sedgwick memorials assembled by Edward Kelly of Litchfield, 1963; a Litchfield Enquirer containing an article on the dedication of a memorial to Sedgwick at Gettysburg, Jun. 12, 1913; and an undated chronology of the events of Sedgwick's life.

Calhoun, Secretary of War, in a statement given at the war office on 1819 Oct 23, certifies that Seth Seeley was a private in the army of the revolution and is inscribed on the List Roll of New York and is entitled to a pension of $8.00 per month. This Pamphlet, "Seventh Concert of The Litchfield County Choral Union," 2012-112-0, was performed at The Music Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut on June 6, 1906.  The 48 page pamphlet includes the program for the June 6th performance, as well as the programs for concerts 1 through 6, in addition to listing of the members of various Glee Clubs and Choral Societies in Litchfield County.
