Scope and Contents
A letter from John and his mother, to his sister and brother in Litchfield. John and his mother are staying with his brother Charles and his family in Newburgh, NY. Page one of the letter is written by Hannah, and pages 2-3 are written by John. Hannah writes to her children at home giving details of her visit to their brother's. Asks them to send her a button, and warns them of fire. John writes to his brother and sister about his work surveying an island, and about a fire that broke out near Charles' cabin.
