Four letters, from Benjamin Tallmadge to John Paine Cushman. The letters discuss political figures and news, including his dislike of the idea of pay attached to the brevet rank, his disappointment that Revolutionary War veterans have not received sufficient monetary compensation, and his hope for the passage of a national bankruptcy law. Tallmadge also mentions his and his wife's recent attack of influenza.
