LTB generally maintained her correspondence in several groupings: correspondence with certain males during her high school and college years; by correspondent's name; chronologically; social activities (invitations, thank yous, weddings, etc.); and family. The papers also contained much loose correspondence, and if LTB had established a grouping by correspondent or type, it was placed there; otherwise, it was placed in the chronological subseries. Overlap somtimes occurs among the groupings. Correspondence among family members has been placed in the subseries, Family. Correspondence among members of professional and political organizations of which LTB was a member will be found in the folders for those organizations.
