James Gould (1770-1838) was a student at the Litchfield Law School during 1795-1798 and then took the school over from Tapping Reeve in 1823. His notebooks consist of 10 volumes: Trespass for False Imprisonment; Practice of CT; Trial by Deed/Trial by Execution; Municipal Law; Executors and Administrators No II; Pleadings in Chancery; Estates in Land Tenaments; Contracts No. II; Municipal Law Husband and Wife No. I; Estates upon Condition, Mortgage I.
