Ferguson Family, 1914
Scope and Contents
Includes two 3½" x 4½" photos of Alice Newton Street and Elizabeth Ferguson dated Sept. 1914. One shows them in the garden the other on the porch using a butter churn. Also a 2 ¼" x 3" of Elizabeth Ferguson, caption reads, "She is now nearly 6 yrs." Another photo of Alice Newton Street, caption reads, "In the garden walk August 1918." Also a photo of Eratus Hurlbut, Washington, Conn. caption reads "See article in Conn. Magazine." There is also a hand written letter (partial) signed by Alice which describes what is happening in enclosed photos. It mentions the colonial standing stool put together with wrought iron nails of which several generations of Newtons have been caged in, also of making green tomato sauce, sweet pickle and spiced apples. A partial paragraph mentions a gardener going in business growing a particular plant which has grown valuable for the root used for medicinal purposes.
