Two letters to Phila A. Brown in Whately, Mass. Her son Clarence writes from Litchfield on October 4, 1863 with details of his brother Ira who is a prisoner in Philadelphia, expresses his brother's desire to change sides to obtain his freedom and gives an address where he can receive mail; reports on his grandmother's illness. Samuel Braman writes from Litchfield on July 28, 1864 regarding the settlement of the estate of Elizabeth Odell.
