Scope and Contents
Notes that he has written their daughters Mary Ann and Hannah in Norwich and is sending them earrings and beads; requests she pass through Hartford on her way to Norwich to see Mrs. Moseley. Notes a visit from his brother Oliver Wolcott and the arrival of the ship the Trident with their goods from China; notes paintings on glass they will receive. Notes the recent sermons by Doctor Strong and remarks that he has found Lyman Beecher to be highly respected and hopes the installation goes well. Notes his opinion on ladies hats he has seen and that the ladies in Hartford do not dress better than those in Litchfield. Adds a postscript noting receipt of her letter.
